Books Arrived, Surveys Sent
over 3 years ago – Fri, Aug 21, 2020 at 08:36:46 PM

Yesterday, I sent out all the BackerKit surveys - already over half have been replied to! Please do answer yours as quickly as you can. Without the information from it, I can't ship your rewards. If you haven't received it, please first check your spam folder. If it's not there, you can get it by visiting this website: https://the-skelligs-islands-on-the-edge-of-the-world.backerkit.com and entering your Kickstarter email address.

On Friday we took delivery of 5,000 copies of The Skelligs - it was a very exciting (and exhausting) day! There's not enough room in the storage shed to allow a forklift to work, so we had to lift about 3 tonnes of books box by box onto the upper rack. All done now and it's great to have everything in place.

That's a lot of books!

A little out of breath in that video as we'd just finished loading the rack!

We're going to start sending books over the next few days. It will take us a while to get through all of that shipping as there are 560+ of you! We will be sending prints in many cases separately from the books, so if you get one and not the other, please be patient - the other will be with you shortly afterwards.

Also, please don't forget to fill out your survey! If you haven't received it, once again you can visit https://the-skelligs-islands-on-the-edge-of-the-world.backerkit.com and enter your Kickstarter email address and you'll have access to it.

Cheers,

Peter

Advance copies!
over 3 years ago – Fri, Aug 07, 2020 at 02:03:04 PM

The printing of the book is complete and today I received three advance copies. The bulk of the printing, 5,000 copies, will arrive next week and we can start fulfilling rewards shortly after that.

In the Flesh!

I'm delighted with the quality. It's just as good as my last book, Atlantic Light. It's so nice to see the physical book after working on it for half a year on a computer screen!

We'll be sending out surveys shortly which will get your current address details as well as your print selection if you chose a reward level that included one.  There will also be the option to add books and/or prints to your order. Stay tuned!

Reference prints on their way!
almost 4 years ago – Wed, Jul 08, 2020 at 10:14:06 PM

Last week the source files were sent to the printers, and today I printed all the photographs in the book and sent them by courier. They will be used as references to ensure the images in the book are as accurate as possible.

It was fun to see the images - many of them I sell in the gallery and have printed many times. Many others have never been printed before! This image was made after I put page numbers on them and was working to put them in order.

Getting excited to see the book for the first time, but I still need to wait a few weeks!

Cheers,

Peter

Getting Closer!
almost 4 years ago – Thu, Jul 02, 2020 at 04:18:51 PM

A quick, but important update. It seems like only yesterday that I posted the last one, but it has been a while - my apologies!

You'll be delighted to hear that the book is now locked and ready for the printers. I'll be sending the files next week and their schedule is to deliver in early August - so we're well on track!

I would usually go to the printers for the actual printing of the book, but with the pandemic that won't be possible. However my printers, Printer Trento in Italy, have done a stellar job of the last two books they printed for me - Atlantic Light's second printing and its mini version. I have full confidence that they'll do the same on this book.

I'll update again when delivery is imminent and we're getting ready to ship.

Cheers,

Peter
